Free Community Meals / PDF Images & Section Updated

PDF Images & Section Updated

Today, Wednesday, 3/23/21, I had an idea come to me about how to do change the display of the PDF section and links to documents.  At first, I had a great deal of trouble finding my own images I created for the Listing Navigator.  Images I was to modify and use for this PDF section.  Learning to name and organize documents (images) so they are easily found is a continuous process.  Today, I was really kicking myself for not doing a better job, so I could find these images and all the elements I use to create these section headers.

The whole section change now uses the same display and buttons as the Listing Navigator.  This makes it easier to display and describe each PDF document with a clear button for opening it up.

I also did some reviewing (as I most always do) of the entire page layout, sections and images.  I'm looking forward to moving forward doing the work to update all these listings.

But first, I must begin developing (producing) the Podcast Channel, so I can talk to you about all this work, and the process involved.  And, especially the need for donations and funding.

David

Homeless Voice Minnesota / Free Laundry Request
« Last post by guest2 on September 21, 2020, 06:38:02 pm »
Today, this Sunday, September 13th, 2020 I received a phone call in the 9:00 hour, a mother of 3 children ages 10, 8 and 5.  She was asking for resources for Free Laundry.  I have subsequently found out that she was staying in a Hotel "shelter" with assistance from ZACAH. www.zacah.org

I was still waking up when I received the call.  I didn't tell her that all the information about resources listings were on the website that she had searched and landed on when she searched for "Free Laundry."  The CSR Minneapolis Clothing resource listings are fairly exhaustive.  Although, the COVID-19 pandemic has since changed everything, and all services to the community across the board, with few exceptions.

So, I got her information and said I would get back to her.  I spent all morning until 12 noon contacting people that I thought might have information about any kind of Free Laundry service or other people that would be good for her to contact.

Worthy of note is that fact that, in her exhaustive efforts to find help, she did call United Way.  Their response to her circumstances was not based on a developed connection with her, and gave her advice about her eldest daughter and situation that she found unacceptable.  Subsequently, her call to United Way was worthless!  United Way receives $80 million every year, with one year being $84 million.

Also, worthy of note is the fact that she did not even mention seeing the Hennepin County "WayPoint" link.  For three years, Hennepin County has dedicated 3 full time staff to this "Project" to "help" the "Homeless."  That is upward of a million dollars, or more.  This money is all wasted!  A few months ago I received an email from Minneapolis DID (downtown improvement district), asking for help from me after I had talked to a DID staff member out on the streets, downtown Minneapolis.

About Homeless Voice Minnesota

"Homeless Voice Minnesota" is all about giving more notice, attention, awareness and support for social change regarding those labeled "Homeless."

"Homeless Voice Minnesota" or "Homeless Voice MN" is a service and product of the CSR Direct Project.

Homelessness is a symptom of a sick, dysfunctional society.  No matter how nice, kind-hearted, well-meaning, good intentioned, hard working, smart, creative and generous the people in that community may be.  Currently, in the Twin Cities, MN, there is just enough kindness, help, assistance, and generosity to keep people stuck.  This kind of comment was repeatedly made during my experiences in the Minneapolis, and Hennepin County shelter system.  I am here to, not only offer, but expect the community to make use of my personal experiences and the significant issues to which I am bearing witness!

CALL FOR HELP / Sunday, September 13th, 2020

Looking for Free Laundry Service in South Minneapolis, MN.

This morning, we received a phone call from a mother with children ages 5, 8, and 10 years.  They are staying in a shelter of sorts, helped by MICAH (Metropolitan Interfaith Council for Affordable Housing)

She and her family were put up at the Super 8 motel in south Minneapolis, 2 1/2 weeks ago.

Since then she has been trying to find assistance with Free Laundry Service for her and her 3 children.

Hello everyone,

This forum is to give the Minnesota community a platform to come together and provide accurate information about Clothing, Laundry and Mending Resources.

The People most in need will be the first demographic supported with information about Free and Reduced Clothing, Laundry and Mending Listings.

There will be Topics created so anyone in the state of Minnesota, or one of the specific demographics (see list below) can create a user name & password, become a member of this Board and post information, and be a part of the conversation.

This Forum will also be here for people in the community to add their awareness to share with the rest of the community.  So, we as a whole community can genuinely work and live together.

Please be mindful of the 3 specific demographics for the State of Minnesota.
